Gianneschi Group Consortiums Awarded $13.3 Million in Research Grants from DOD MURI Program

The Gianneschi Group in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at UC San Diego is a key member of two university consortiums awarded research grants totaling $13.3 Million by the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) Multi-Disciplinary University Research Initiative (MURI) Program. The awards include a $7 million grant from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) to support research developing 3D-printing technologies at nanoscale levels and a $6.3 Million grant from the Army Research Office (ARO) to support research into materials capable of performing as autonomous sense-and-response systems.
